This was inspired by the Haunted Mansion ride in Disney World, which I saw when I was eight and still remember. There are these large, happy paintings that you only see the top of. But then the floor starts to descend, and they aren’t so happy after all. I feel this piece looks peaceful, until you take a closer look.
